To support the 81 municipalities and eight municipal governments in the comprehensive management of their waste, the University for International Cooperation (UCI ) developed a special program, through training, technical assistance and support of processes in the "expertise in integrated waste management," which will begin next May 18 in one hundred percent virtual mode.
Aimed specifically at technical professionals and related municipal service provision for collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste as well as professionals and technicians in the health sector, education, environment and other institutions involved in waste management consultants and advisors in environmental issues and public services.
And, integrated waste law enacted on June 10, 2010 can have the political backing of local governments to support projects and working synergy between municipalities, existing counseling programs and civil society to respond to the problem waste at the local level. Because
to achieve a successful experience in integrated waste management at local level should address the problem by:
Training of waste generators in the principles of "prevention of pollution."
Elaboration and monitoring of municipal integrated waste management
advice and support to municipalities in cost management, delivery and service contracts related to municipal waste management. Creating mechanisms
waste segregation, composting and recycling with the participation of private enterprise.
Support and guidance in the design and / or management of landfills based on international standards. Location
that forces us to promote and develop a curriculum to strengthen the skills and technical capabilities of municipal, state and private sector related to the integrated management of solid waste in order to provide the country with technical and boxes professionals who promote the modernization of municipal solid waste management within the new decentralized municipal management trends.
